Leiho x Somewhere Peaceful Group Coaching Workshop

A Leiho x Somewhere Peaceful Group Coaching Workshop on 'The Art of Prioritising'

At Leiho, we believe that caring for ourselves is just as important as caring for those we love. That's why we collaborated with Somewhere Peaceful, for a group of incredible mums supported by Home-start Camden & Islington

Home-start is a charity we've ran workshops for before on numerous occasions like our Sock Crackers Employment Projects and Mother's Day Employment Projects. They are an incredible charity offering confidential and practical support for struggling parents with children under five years old.

Somewhere Peaceful is a community based organisation bringing people together to empower, uplift and break comfort zones together. The founder Lyn, is also an incredible coach who runs workshops to help people navigate questions around things like identity, career, burnout, and belonging.

We are so thrilled to have partnered with both Somewhere Peaceful and Home-start for this group coaching workshop on 'The Art of Prioritising', for the mums who all have young children, busy households and countless daily responsibilities. Yet, for an hour today, they gave themselves permission to pause, reflect and explore what really matters most in their lives.

One mum shared:

"Usually I do everything for my kids and family, but today I chose to come here for myself and I am grateful for the opportunity."

It was a powerful reminder that prioritising ourselves isn't selfish, it's actually essential. Another mum shared with us that:

"If my mental health is bad, then other things go wrong. I can't function if my mental health is bad because then I can't take care of my kids."

Throughout the workshop, the group opened up about the daily struggles of juggling childcare, routines, appointments and afterschool clubs, all whilst trying to keep their own sense of calm and balance.

After a wholesome discussion, collectively, the mums shared some lessons and goals reflected on from this workshop to help them prioritise and organise more:

  1. Learning to say no. It's okay to not say yes to everyone and everything.
  2. To try not to overthink as much on the 'what ifs' as this sometimes creates unnecessary stress
  3. Learning how to ask for help when you need it to help alleviate the pressure. There are people out there who are more than happy to support you in times of need.
  4. Understanding that sometimes doing less is more and trying not to overwhelm myself with too much.
  5. The importance of celebrating the small wins to acknowledge that you are doing the best you can for yourself and your family.

We were deeply moved by the honesty, vulnerability and resilience in the room. The shared message was clear, that "you can have it all, but not all at once." And that's completely okay.

By taking a moment to pause, reflect and prioritise, these mums not only gave themselves the care they deserve but also are creating space to be more present for their children.

We're so grateful to Lyn for guiding this meaningful session and to the amazing team at Home-start Camden & Islington for the work they do everyday to support local families and children.

At Leiho, this is why we do what we do - to spark small but significant moments that help make life a little brighter, especially for those who give so much of themselves to others.
