Interestingly Different is more than just a store. It's a visionary project born out of Nickel Support, a community interest company dedicated to empowering adults with learning disabilities to make socially impactful products such as tea, fudge, jams, chutney’s, furniture and ceramics that are then sold in the Interestingly Different store in Sutton.

Despite the historical challenges of employment faced by people with learning disabilities, recent data from the Nuffield Trust proves a promising trend. The employment rate for adults aged 16-64 with disabilities in the UK has steadily increased over time, reaching 54% in Q1 2023/24, up from 44% in Q1 2013/14. This increase highlights the importance of supporting businesses like Interestingly Different and Nickel Support, which play a crucial role in driving positive change.
