372 Pairs of Socks Donated to Sussex Homeless Support

This Christmas, we partnered with Tessa Cobley and the Sock Crackers team to offer eco-friendly, plastic-free Christmas sock crackers that are not only waste free but also gave back to the homeless community! These crackers were a great success and we sold out much earlier than expected so thank you to every single person who supported this launch!

As the amazing Sock Crackers team are from Brighton, all the donations we received from our Christmas crackers have gone to Sussex Homeless Support, a Brighton based charity that offer support, advice and outreach services to people suffering from housing crisis in the Sussex area. From this launch, we were able to donate 372 pairs of thermal socks to rough sleepers around Brighton just in time before Christmas!

Additionally, Brighton has one of the highest numbers of rough sleepers across the UK after big cities like London and Manchester so it made perfect sense for us to expand our sock donations to other cities in the country. The homeless population are continuing to increase due to the pandemic, hence why the SHS team have set up an outreach service every Wednesday and Sunday at The Clocktower in the city centre to give out hot food, drinks, toiletries and clothing to over 200 vulnerable people in Brighton.
