Water donated to Shower Box London

65 pairs of socks and 24 cartons of water donated to ShowerBox

Founded in 2018, ShowerBox is London’s first ever free and secure shower space for people sleeping rough in London, available every Saturday at St. Giles Church near Tottenham Court Road station.

We had the privilege to meet Sarah Lamptey, the amazing founder of ShowerBox! Sarah drives the shower trailer across Central London every week to offer homeless individuals a chance to maintain good personal hygiene, build motivation and confidence, as well as stop the spread of disease, which is crucial especially during these unprecedented times.

Last weekend we visited the ShowerBox trailer to see it all in action! We went shopping around the area in the morning and bought some clean socks and boxers for the guests to use after their shower. In the end we were able to donate 65 pairs of warm socks, 20 pairs of boxers and 24 cartons of water!

ShowerBox also offers their guests lots of toiletries and essentials, alongside hot drinks and snacks. They receive around roughly 40 guests each Saturday and we could tell they always left with a smile on their faces!

Please make sure to check out their website to find out how else you can help and make a difference to the lives of our homeless friends around London.
